J&P Adds a Little Cheer to Christmas in Iowa

December 23, 2011 | By: Angi Kearney

Here at J&P Cycles, we feel strongly in the concept that it’s important to give back what was so freely given to us. Recently, we helped bring some additional holiday cheer to down-on-their-luck families in Jones County, Iowa, home to the J&P headquarters. We raised $1,200 for Anamosa Charities, Inc., a local nonprofit that has provided toys around the holidays to Jones County families since 1992. Before that,… Continue Reading

J&P Cycles Turns Into a Little Shop of Horrors

1

November 4, 2011 | By: Angi Kearney

Here at J&P Cycles, we’re of the opinion that it’s important to work hard and play even harder. That holds especially true for fun events and Halloween has always been a special occasion in this family-inspired business of ours.

This year, on the Friday before Halloween, we transformed our J&P Cycles’ headquarters in Iowa and our Destination Daytona Superstore in Florida into little shops of horror, complete with costumed employees shaking chains, dragging their feet and jumping out of storerooms to frighten supervisors.

Then around lunchtime (because we don’t fool around during working hours) our employees gathered in both locations for group photos. These photos were circulated among all… Continue Reading

August 23, 2011 | By: Angi Kearney

The fast-arriving Labor Day weekend marks Iowa’s biggest antique Motorcycle swap meets and vintage flat-track races, hosted by the Chief Blackhawk chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) and held at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport.

The AMCA Fall National (Sept 1 through 4 this year) is one of the largest events of the year for this organization and it just so happens to be taking place pretty much smack dab in the middle of the United States — about an hour and a half from J&P Cycles.

This is an event that draws members and spectators from all over the United States. What’s the… Continue Reading

J&P Cycles Donates $25,000 to Camp Courageous of Iowa

One of our close neighbors out here in Anamosa, Iowa, is a very special camp for very special people – children and adults with special needs. For more than 30 years, Camp Courageous — located just outside Monticello and about 10 miles from J&P Cycles’ headquarters — has been a place where campers can have a great time with others facing the same challenges, all in a safe, nurturing and beautiful environment.

Camp Courageous is a year-round care and recreation facility for people of all ages with disabilities that can include vision, mental, physical and other disabilities. Each year, the 150-acre camp serves thousands of… Continue Reading

We’re All Over Sturgis Next Month – Literally!

July 26, 2011 | By: Angi Kearney

You’re going to be seeing the J&P Cycles logo all over town next month as motorcyclists converge on Sturgis to celebrate the 71st annual Sturgis Rally & Races. This tiny South Dakota town is transformed almost overnight into “Motorcycle City USA,” and we’ll be there in full force for the entire event.

J&P will be well represented in town for the first half of August with not one, but two fully stocked stores — and that doesn’t even count our big rig at the corner of 8th Street and Lazelle in downtown Sturgis.

The main Harley parts and accessories store, located at Continue Reading

The summer months at J&P Cycles are chock full of events, events and more events! It’s almost like we’re trying to cram 12 months worth of activity into three months, and that’s because we live in Eastern Iowa. We take advantage of the great weather when we can get it.

Coming up on the immediate horizon, we’ve got two events on the books – starting off with Cruise Night on July 12. We host Cruise Night a couple of times each summer where the emphasis is celebrating fast cars, fancy motorcycles and fellowship. This year, the Cruise Night series will be held at the National… Continue Reading
